Virunga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the endangered list. In recent years the park has begun the process of rehabilitation with support from the European Union and other donors. Africa Conservation Fund (ACF) has a management contract with ICCN (Congolese Wildlife Authority) through 2021 to develop and fortify the sustainable management of the park.
